Reese (Lucy, Lae-Lae, Lu-Lu) Wickersham Dec 6, 2010 -July 5, 2025 (14.7 years) Liver Spotted Dalmatian My loyal companion Reese passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 5, 2025 in the comfort of my arms. I know everyone thinks their dog is the best but Reese was my primary purpose in life. Reese bounded into our family on Feb 7, 2011 and never left my side. She was everywhere in my life: the first to greet me each morning and the last to say goodnight. She was with me through heartbreak in 2013. My closest companion through our many life challenges of family loss, surgeries, injuries, sickness, and celebrations. She graciously gave us 14.5 years of her life. Most recently, her fierce loyalty and love saw me through my own cancer diagnosis and treatment in 2024. In her earlier years, she was my lunch date every day until she became my constant coworker and companion during the last 4 years of her precious life. She was the most athletic, fun, happy, and intelligent girl. She loved water and swimming, feeding horses, barn and yard work, traveling, nature, and adventure. She loved the outdoors and sunshine but was happy to battle any weather as long as we were together. She loved change, new things, building, and anything with action. Her favorite times were being feisty, sassy, and wrestling with her dad. She was his biggest fan of cooking out and new building projects. She loved farm life and massaging her back on sappy tree limbs. She was a worker and an early riser. We were always on her schedule. She loved jumping, spinning, and running perfect figure eights, our little reining horse. She hated bananas, apples and oranges, anything with a funny texture. She loved taco chips, beef jerky, and brisket. She was a protector, she loved movie time with the family and cuddling with mom. She was polite, sharing, and loved her tennis ball. She was a nurturer and cared deeply for watching over her younger brother, Goose. She was never alone and she always traveled with us. She was vocal from day one and was never afraid to let us know what she thought or needed. Her sweet voice will forever be etched into our memory. She was the glue to our family. Preceded in death by her human grandfathers, great grandmother, great uncle, horse sister Cricket, and brother Tank. Succeeded by mom and dad, brother Goose, 2 grandmothers, and multiple uncles and great uncles. Reese taught us strength, resilience, and unconditional love. She taught us to keep living despite our hardships, enjoy every day until you can’t.
