Riley Ditto January 27, 2011 – July 14, 2026 With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Riley, a beloved ruby Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, who crossed the rainbow bridge on July 14, 2026, at the age of 15. Born in Colorado on January 27, 2011, Riley spent his life bringing joy to everyone fortunate enough to know him. Though he lived in three different states throughout his lifetime (Colorado, Oklahoma, and Texas), Texas became his true home and the place where many of his happiest memories were made. Riley never met a stranger. His infectious smile, wagging nub of a tail, and gentle spirit made friends everywhere he went. He had an uncanny ability to sense when someone was sad and would offer comfort in the form of the very best hugs. A nap enthusiast, Riley believed that every day was made better by snuggling close to the people he loved. But, he wasn’t shy to ask you to pet his belly or chest every now and then. He found endless joy in life's simple pleasures: chasing birds across the lawn, sprinting after tennis balls, basking in the sunshine, rolling in the grass, and spending time with his family. In his younger years, Riley loved accompanying his mom, Tiffany, to Mexican restaurant patios, where he happily enjoyed his very own chicken fajitas, carefully prepared without onions or garlic, of course. He was a regular attendee at holiday gatherings, a faithful travel companion on summer vacations, and in his later years could still be found loyally following his family from room to room, simply wanting to be near the people he adored. A natural charmer, Riley enjoyed a bit of fame during his lifetime. He served as a canine model for various publications, including Texas Dog Magazine, and was once featured in The Ardmoreite newspaper. In 2019 and 2021, he won first place in a Denton-based cutest pet Halloween costume competition, delighting all who saw him dressed in his award-winning ensemble as a King. In his retirement years, he proudly held the title of Employee of the month at his mother’s company, Zoza Ink, for six consecutive months — a distinction that he wore with the dignity and enthusiasm only Riley could possess. In 2023, Riley even contracted and beat skin cancer’s tail. To know Riley was to love him. His joyful spirit, kind heart, and unwavering devotion to his family left an imprint that can never be replaced. He reminded everyone around him to slow down, enjoy the sunshine, cherish a good nap, and never pass up an opportunity to love wholeheartedly. Riley's zest for life and boundless affection live on in the countless memories, photographs, and stories shared by those who loved him. Though his paws no longer walk beside us, his smile and spirit will remain forever in our hearts and memories.
