With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our sweet, precious Cookie—a beautiful Siberian Husky who shared twelve and a half unforgettable years with us. Cookie was more than a pet; she was family. With her striking sky-blue eyes, playful spirit, and feisty personality, she brought warmth and joy into every day. Whether she was carrying around her baby or her newest toy, quietly keeping us company, or reminding us of her stubborn husky independence, Cookie had a way of making life brighter simply by being in it. I will miss so many of her cute little antics—her “Lassie-style” head swirl and circle dance that meant “come on, Mom” when she was ready for bed… the way she would bring her baby to me and roll over for belly rubs… her fuzzy-lipped kisses… and her proud “Bang” and “High Five” tricks. I’ll even miss the disgusted look she gave when you threw her toy and expected HER to fetch it, and her joyful welcome-home howl when we pulled into the driveway. But what I already miss most is her sweet face smiling down the stairs at me when I get home. I loved her more than words could ever express, and she returned that love unconditionally. Her presence filled my heart with comfort, laughter and a deep sense of peace that will be profoundly missed. Cookie’s passing comes after a difficult and heartbreaking journey. What was believed for far too long to be a simple infection was later revealed to be advanced mammary cancer. By the time we received the correct diagnosis, the disease had progressed beyond treatment. While the pain of knowing more could have been done sooner is devastating, I will hold tightly to the many years of love and memories we were blessed to share. In her final days, Cookie showed incredible strength. Even through discomfort and pain she stayed close—reminding us of the quiet courage and devotion that defined her life. She leaves behind a family who adored her and will carry her memory forever. Run free, my sweet, precious girl. Your light will live on in my heart always. You were, and forever will be, deeply loved and missed. I look forward to the day I see your beautiful face again at the Rainbow Bridge. Anita Crawford
